Modern Gallery Extension

They call it "East meets West." The homeowners have wonderful collections of Southeast Asian sculptures and early American portraits and landscapes. When the display outgrew their 1930s Maurice Fazio-style home, we built this new wing on an adjacent lot to the east for the Asian collection. A new pool separates and unites the original home and the new pavilion, which includes a kitchen, dining room, and gallery space.

The extension shows off its Modern style with flat roofs, large floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors, transoms, and a combination of lightweight painted steel and stucco over concrete block construction.
